I often get asked by people with wavy hair how they can make their hair curlier. Before we get into that you need to understand what makes straight/wavy hair different from curly hair.
1. All hair has hydrogen and disulfide bonds but straight and wavy hair has very strong hydrogen bonds.
2. Curly hair has strong disulfide bonds.
3. You can break down hydrogen bonds with water which will help you manipulate your hair to form curls easier.
To help your straight or wavy hair curl without the use of a curling iron you will need super clean hair. These steps below are the easiest and most effortless way to curl your hair. Let's break this down step by step.
1. Wash hair with a clarifying shampoo (This will make your hair lighter and eliminate buildup)
2. Condition your hair with a moisturizing shampoo
3. Apply curl enhancing products to your soaking wet hair. I will leave a few product recommendations below.
5. SCRUNCH(with a cotton t shirt or tank top) and scrunch till you cannot scrunch anymore. This is what will help form the curls. Best with your head upside down.
6. You do have the option to use a blow dryer. I suggest using medium heat without a diffuser. Blow dry with your your head upside down (this helps give you incredible volume)
7. While you're drying your hair you will need to scrunch during the process with the t shirt.
8. Cotton towels will break your hair.
9. DON'T ever rub your hair with a towel..always squeeze or dab it dry with a cotton t shirt or tank as stated above.
10. Enjoy your gorgeous hair and rock it!!
Note- these suggestions work awesome for naturally curly hair as well to help enhance your natural curls.
Product suggestions to bring out the curls-
1.Catwalk Curlesque Curls Rock Amplifier by TIGI
2. Smooth Hydration Argan Oil and Shea Butter Curl Enhancing Yogurt
3. Care Free Curl Gold Instant Curl Activator (these work)
