Deep Steep Hair and Skincare Review

Let me start off by saying that I was dying to try Deep Steep products. The company was generous enough to send me a shampoo, conditioner, and a body lotion. Here is a bit about Deep Steep and Royal Labs (manufacturer of Deep Steep). Royal Labs was founded in 1983 by Paul and Peggy Lieber. They specialize in natural personal care products and are FDA registered and USDA Organic Certified. Along with Deep Steep products they also manufacture products for Organic Indulgence and Aroma Bella. Deep Steep vision involves two concepts: Luxury and Integrity. All of their wonderful products are free of chemical preservatives, artificial fragrances, harsh surfactants, and are cruelty free (which I LOVE)

I was waiting so patiently for these products to arrive and to my surprise they came within a few days after contact with the company. I just could not wait to try them so I slathered on the body lotion immediately. The scent stopped me dead in my tracks.....AMAZING!!! I was already hooked but even better than the scent ( tangerine-melon) was the richness of this lotion. My skin was noticeably softer and smoother immediately. I was so impressed by the list of ingredients which did not include water. The first ingredient was  Aloe Vera Leaf Juice followed by some impressive plant and fruit extracts (which include tangerine, melon, orange and more) oils (sunflower oil, jojoba oil and essential oil blends), and butters (shea, cacao). My husband loved the scent on me and commented on how soft my skin was. The packaging is beautiful and so elegant. I loved the box so much that I kept the lotion in it instead of recycling it right away. This has literally become my new favorite body lotion.

The next product I tried was the Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner. Once again I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh and intoxicating scent of the Shampoo./Conditioner Duo. They boasted natural and organic ingredients such as Corn Silk Extract,  Kelp Extract, Coconut Oil, Quinoa Protein among many others. The shampoo is sulfate free but had a rich later and my hair and scalp felt very clean. The conditioner was very thick and a little bit of this goes a long way. Detangling with it was a breeze, I barely had to fight any tangles. It melted though my hair and rinsed out very clean with no residue left behind. I was so impressed with the results when my hair finally air dried. There was noticeable difference in fullness and the shine was amazing. Each curl was well defined and stacked perfectly. You don't have to take my word for it...see for yourself.

I am so impressed and totally in love with Deep Steep. I just love the fact that these products are good for my skin and hair. There are no sort of chemicals or harmful ingredients in any of their products. Deep Steep's vast catalog of products include body wash, bubble bath, foaming hand soap, body mist, body butter, dry oil spritzer, sugar scrub, shampoo, conditioner, foot cream, foot polish, foot stick , foot mist,  body lotion, moisture stick, hand cream, and many others. I highly recommend that everyone try Deep Steep products.

Achieving curls on straight/wavy hair plus tips on mainting your natural curls

I often get asked by people with wavy hair how they can make their hair curlier. Before we get into that you need to understand what makes straight/wavy hair different from curly hair.

1. All hair has hydrogen  and disulfide bonds but straight and wavy hair has very strong hydrogen bonds.
2. Curly hair has strong disulfide bonds.
3. You can break down hydrogen bonds with water which will help you manipulate your hair to form curls easier.

To help your straight or wavy hair curl without the use of a curling iron you will need super clean hair. These steps below are the easiest and most effortless way to curl your hair. Let's break this down step by step.

1. Wash hair with a clarifying shampoo (This will make your hair lighter and eliminate buildup)
2. Condition your hair with a moisturizing shampoo
3. Apply curl enhancing products to your soaking wet hair. I will leave a few product recommendations below.
5. SCRUNCH(with a cotton t shirt or tank top) and scrunch till you cannot scrunch anymore. This is what will help form the curls. Best with your head upside down.
6. You do have the option to use a blow dryer. I suggest using medium heat without a diffuser. Blow dry with your your head upside down (this helps give you incredible volume)
7. While you're drying your hair you will need to scrunch during the process with the t shirt.
8. Cotton towels will break your hair.
9. DON'T ever rub your hair with a towel..always squeeze or dab it dry with a cotton t shirt or tank as stated above.
10. Enjoy your gorgeous hair and rock it!!
Note- these suggestions work awesome for naturally curly hair as well to help enhance your natural curls.

Product suggestions to bring out  the curls-

2. Smooth Hydration Argan Oil and Shea Butter Curl Enhancing Yogurt

Forever Luminous Volcanic Ash Hydrating Facial Wrap Reivew

I was asked by My Spa Life to try and review their newest facial wrap. I was ecstatic to work with this company for the second time and happily accepted. This is not your typical face mask that you apply with your fingers nor does it harden like a typical face mask. I was so intrigued by the fact that this mask contains volcanic ash which is known for it's awesome antioxidant properties. This mask also helps sooth, moisturize, and has excellent antibacterial qualities. The volcanic ash combined with CoQ10 which counteracts free radicals can reverse sun damage to help reveal healthy glowing skin. This mask also contains some great ingredients such as Panthenol, Collagen, and Aloe.

This mask can be put in the fridge to provide a cooling at home spa like treatment or can be placed in warm water(in package) for a warm facial. As directed I washed and dried my face before applying this mask. I decided to use it right out of the packet at room temperature. I unfolded it and placed it over my face, relaxed for about 30 mins while my wonderful husband kept the kiddies busy so mommy can relax. After 20-30 you remove the mask and massage the remaining serum into your skin then discard the used mask. My face felt so super smooth and soft afterwards.

My husband even commented on how soft and smooth my skin felt. He was game to try one because he once tried their under eye strips. It was pretty hilarious, endearing, and cute at all the same time. Anyway I would highly recommend that you all pick up some of their products(some pictured below). I have been very impressed by all 3 products I've tried so far and I love the fact that they're so affordable. There will be a giveaway coming soon that will include this mask. You can find them on Faebook  https://www.facebook.com/pages/MY-SPA-LIFE/184405254998018. Thanks for reading :-)

Meet Jonathan London

Being a curly girl, I find that I am always running into other curlies from all over the world or they find me. When I saw Jonathan's awesome hair, I had to find out more about it. Curls have always been my obsession but lately it's been heightened. I was just going to do a very short interview with Jonathan on his hair routine but, I found out that there was so much more to him than just hair. Let's learn a bit about this half  Black half East Indian Model/Actor/Businessman

1.CCL-Please introduce yourself

JL- My name is Jonathan London, I am a TV and film actor from Chicago. I got my start in modeling and acting in magazines and music videos but as I grew and developed in the industry I came across many people that I was able to learn quickly from and move on to different things. I know many people also know me in a different way because I also am CEO of GoViral Media Group, Inc. Sometimes I feel like I have multiple personalities because I have to be so many different people and wear so many hats and I rarely let my worlds cross. I had a long-standing role on Boss on Starz with Kelsey Grammar which is where many people know me from, along with other shows like Chicagolicious and Chicago Fire.

2. CCL-Tell me about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your career.

JL-As far as my most significant accomplishment, it's hard to pick just one, because all I think about is all of the blood and sweat to get each one. But if I had to choose one, it would be this movie role I just landed with Emmy Award winning producer Shawn Rech. I am playing the lead role in his new movie "Chain of Custody". It's a really cool movie, with some of the best writers and producers in the world working on it, I love working with the guys at Pinpoint Media out in Cleveland, their process is amazing.

3. CCL-What are your hobbies/interests outside of your career?

JL- I work out like a maniac. Any second that I can get away from my hectic schedule I head to the gym to get a good workout in and play basketball. Health is really important to me. I am a vegetarian but I'm not the type that tries to force my diet on anybody else. I am also a beer connoisseur and like to go out and try new craft beers.

4. CCL-Who are a few of the celebrities/influential people you've worked with?

JL- I've had the opportunity to work with some really great people. Just in the last couple of years I have worked on projects with people like the one and only R. Kelly, Kelsey Grammer and Mario Van Peebles on Boss, Christian Slater and Steve Zahn on Mind Games and the pilot Influence. I also met Jerry Springer on set for his guest appearance on Chicagolicious, he's actually a very funny guy outside of his show, he definitely has a big presence on set. Of course I've also had the opportunity to work with Taylor Kinney on Chicago Fire. Shawn Rech has been really influential in helping me move my acting career outside of Chicago and working on Film projects from the ground up. That way I have more control on the outcome as well. Other people that have been influential are people like Joan O'Connor who spends most of her time casting top talent for commercial projects. She actually approached me in a restaurant while I was eating with friends and told me about a project she thought I had a good look for. Being "discovered" meant to me like I had finally made it and that acting was my destiny. She just happened to be the second Emmy-award winner I was suddenly working with in just a few weeks time. A lot of it is just being in the right place at the right time and I constantly found myself stumbling into opportunities I couldn't have planned for even if I tried.

5. CCL-5. That hair is absolutely fabulous! Please share your hair care routine with us.

JL- Thanks! Simplicity is everything for me. I just wash my hair, put whatever random conditioner I have, comb it through, rinse it and then put gel and just let it air dry.

6. CCL-What are your plans for the future?

JL-My plans for the future are to become a household name. Most importantly I want to be able to give back to the world in a way that only few people can say they have the opportunity to do. I feel like without a Legacy that people will want to remember for centuries to come, there is no point in being alive, what's the point? I want my name in the history books for something that really impacts people and can change how people act and feel towards each other. For right now, I think that acting is on the right path for that future.

 7. CCL-What is one thing you've always wanted to do but haven't done yet?

JL-One thing that I would like to do that I have never done is go into outer space. In our lifetimes they will have several private trips to space, but the ticket will cost millions. That is why I am working hard as an actor so that I can do things like that where only a select few people in the world will be able to experience something so cool and inspirational.

I had so much fun interviewing him and hope you all enjoyed the interview. Keep an eye out for him on the tube and mags.
